BCSlots, the company run by Brian Christopher, has signed a strategic partnership with Eilers & Krejcik Gaming (EKG). Under the agreement, BCSlots will draw on EKG's data and analytics to give a clearer statistical picture of slot play and to let players rate games.

According to Christopher, EKG has long gathered technical data on how slot machines perform, but it has lacked direct input from the people playing them. Discussions between the two sides led to the idea of combining both perspectives. The aim is to learn what excites players, what they want more of, and what frustrates them. Christopher also said slot manufacturers and casinos are encouraged to contact BCSlots or EKG with questions they want answered about player preferences and experiences.

Christopher said it is too early to identify clear trends, as the first survey has only recently been published. The longer-term goal is a fuller view of which slot games resonate with players, which fall short, and why. The deal comes less than a year and a half after Christopher released his first slot game, Brian Christopher's World Cruise, which was developed with Gaming Arts.

Todd Eilers, co-founder of Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, said the partnership would benefit both his company and BCSlots' audience. In his view, pairing EKG's quantitative data with qualitative insight from a highly engaged, organic audience gives a more complete understanding of slot titles. Integrating machine performance figures with players' own experiences and perceptions would give EKG's partners a new perspective on what is available in the market.

The companies plan to publish a detailed joint research report and share it across EKG's network of operator and supplier partners. It is intended to give game developers and casino decision-makers data-driven insight into the preferences, behaviors and motivations of current players. A new player-voted category will also debut at the next EKG Slot Awards Show in Las Vegas, recognizing the titles that generate the strongest enthusiasm among players during the year.

The findings will also be promoted through BCSlots' media platforms, including FlipTheSwitch.com, and discussed on EKG's Bonus Round podcast with BCSlots guests. Christopher added that, personally, he would like to see more feature-heavy games that keep players engaged for longer, though he said it is too early to say what players overall want.
