Powerball Jackpot Survives Monday Draw as Two Match 5 Players Win $1M Each
No ticket matched all six numbers in the October 26 Powerball drawing, but players in Florida and Georgia each won $1 million. The jackpot for Wednesday's draw is estimated at $716 million.
The Powerball drawing held on Monday, October 26, produced no jackpot winner, leaving a prize of about $691 million unclaimed. The top prize would have been available either as an annuity or as a one-time cash payment of $294.4 million.
The winning numbers were 18, 26, 49, 50 and 54, with a red Powerball of 1. The Power Play multiplier for the drawing was 3x.
Although nobody took the jackpot, two tickets matched all five white numbers. According to the Powerball announcement, one of those tickets was sold in Florida and the other in Georgia, and each holder is eligible to claim a $1 million prize.
Seventeen further players matched four white numbers plus the Powerball and won third-tier prizes. Fourteen of them received $50,000 each, while three received $150,000 each because the 3x Power Play multiplier applied to their tickets.
With the top prize still standing, the next drawing takes place on Wednesday, October 29. The jackpot is currently estimated at $716 million, with a cash option of $307.2 million.
The previous drawings also produced notable results. The Saturday, October 24 drawing had no Match 5 winners, but 30 players matched four white numbers and the Powerball, winning prizes from $50,000 to $100,000. In the October 21 drawing, a player in New Jersey won $1 million, while players in Ohio and Pennsylvania won $2 million each in Match 5 plus Power Play prizes. Other recent Match 5 wins of $1 million were reported in Michigan and Maryland.
